What to expect when you visit us:
We have adjusted to COVID. We are following the CDC guidelines to insure our gatherings are safe as possible. When you enter we will take your temperature and ask you fo follow safe procedures. We have cordoned off the seating so you can sit with your family while keeping a safe distance from others. We all wear masks during the worship service.
It is our heart's desire that you feel safe while enjoying the worship experience.
Sometimes showing up to church is intimidating. Our church, in particular, is intimidating; It is large and built with stones!
It may seem cold on the outside but it is warm on the inside. We strive to make sure you feel at home while at
Deering Center. We hope the following information will help ease the tension and allow you to "take a peek"
into a normal Sunday.
Here are some "What to Expect"
"What to Expect"
(beginning with our primary purpose for which we exist).
Our first purpose as a church is to worship God. He designed us to experience his love by worshiping Him. The Psalmist said; "Declare His glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." Psalm 96:3. Jesus said; "Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30). God delights in communing with His people. Here are some answers to some of these helpful questions.
What Should I Wear?
Our attire ranges from dungarees to dresses, suits and ties to shorts. We are much more concerned about what is going on in the inside of a person than the clothes they wear on the outside.
What is the music like?
Our music ranges from contemporary Christian music to traditional hymns. We are led by a worship band consisting of drums, guitars, keyboards, saxophone and singers.
What Are the Messages Like?
Our pastor delivers 30-35 minute messages that teach sound Christian doctrines from the Bible. The messages have immediate and powerful impact on our daily lives. You can listen to his sermons by simply clicking here on "Messages." We use a "fill in the blank" outline that helps us put the message into practice.
Do My Kids Sit With Me?
We offer children services from birth to 5th grade during the Sunday morning gathering. The creative teachers will help your children learn about God in a relevant way, as well as offer fun experiences that will help the teaching come alive in their hearts. We provide "Junior Church Program" for children in kindergarten through
Will I Be Asked to Give Money?
The answer is "No." Giving in our church is for the members who have dedicated themselves to the Lord and His church. You are a guest and we ask that you keep your money and enjoy the worship.
Will I Be Bored?
We sure hope not. A life connected to Jesus should be fulfilling and rewarding. We strategically plan weekend gatherings to engage your heart, mind and soul. We use music, video, powerful teaching and other experiential elements to help you connect to God in a meaningful way.
What is the Overall Environment Like?
We want to make you feel welcome as you put yourself in a position to connect with God. We even provide fresh coffee, pretty comfortable seating, and casual environment that will set the tone for you to be more focused on God, and less concerned about the atmosphere around you.
