Our third purpose is to Serve God in the church and in the world.

Jesus said; "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give his life as a ransom for the many" Mark 10:45

We human beings long to have significance, meaning, and purpose to life. We find it when we become obedient and humbly serve the purposes of our loving God. Christians have been given spiritual gifts that are meant to be exercised within the life of the church. At the same time, we, as God's people, are called by God to be part of His Great Commission in the world: "Jesus said; 'All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20). We fulfill that Great Commission when we share our faith with others.

  • a few of the ministries the Lord has called us to engage in.
  • how we have been involved in ministering to Deering Center and Deering High School.

We are excited about being in Deering Center.

We sensed God calling us to come to Deering and be part of the dynamic things going on in this great community.

We are especially excited about being involved with the Deering Center teens.

Each spring and fall we have several cook outs for families and teens on the church lawn. Everyone has a great time. We are looking forward to ministering to the young people in the days and weeks ahead.

Cooking Matters

During the school year the Deering High School Alternative Education program led by Mrs. Tracey Menard, conducts "Cooking Matters" classes in our kitchen and dining room. Cooking Matters is sponsored by The Good Shepherd Food program. The students learn about healthy cooking, preparation and presentation. They are learning life skills.

Please keep watch for upcoming events. Click here for our Church calendar events.

What is Operation Christmas Child?

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Our mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoe boxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.

OUR VISION for 2022:

Our 2022 goal is 222 boxes

Our church is praying for the OCC children year round.

Please prayerfully pack a shoe box one per month this year. We will bring your completed boxes to the front of the church.

We packed 204 boxes in 2021.

We would love to have you get involved. For more information please contact us at: occ@dcccc.org
