PRAYER

We Believe in God's Healing Power

The Bible declares; "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power and how He went around doing good, healing all those under the power of the devil because God was with Him" (Acts 10:38 NIV). And Jesus said in John 14:12-13 "Truly, truly I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works I do; and even greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it." (ESV)

We believe God is still healing people today. We are committed to praying for people to experience God's compassion, mercy and healing power.

We would love to pray for you.  If you are suffering with emotional, spiritual, or physical pain we will pray you will experience God's mighty healing power.

If you need prayers for loved ones, or financial matters there is hope for your situation.

We gather Tuesday nights at 6:30 in our Fireside Room of our church. We are on the corner of Brentwood St. and Stevens Ave across from the Quality Shop in Deering Center. You can call ahead (773-2423), or join us at 6:30 pm. You can also submit prayer requests by clicking here:

We invite you to join us this Tuesday night, 6:30 PM in the Fireside Room at our Deering Church location.

We are very interested in your prayer needs. Do you need a job, healing, concerns about family; whatever the need please click on "Launch Form" to fill out a prayer request. Let us know how we can pray for you.

Also let us know how God is working in your life as He answers prayer.

Homeless outreach

We have a ministry to the homeless on Park Ave in Portland and at the Oxford St. Shelter. Once a week we provide sandwiches to the homeless in Deering Oaks. It is a remarkable ministry.

The COVID outbreak made it difficult for the City to meet all the needs of the homeless. We have been taking food and basic needs to the homeless each Friday.  We have the opportunity to serve and pray for those in need. They welcome people praying for them.

Needless to say, during the upcoming cold winter months their needs will be acute. For those of you who would like to continue supporting and assisting us, here are some items that are in great demand:

Socks

Cookies (individually wrapped cookies or packages)

Single packages of chips

Hot chocolate (powder)

Waters (individual bottles)

Peanut butter and jelly

Brown lunch bags

These items are a great help to us. If you would like to drop off items, we receive them at our office at 4 Brentwood St. Wednesdays through Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm.

Currently, we are not taking clothes because we don’t have storage space. Also, right now, we can’t take non perishables because the need is sporadic.

If you would like to make a donation for the homeless it will make it possible for us to purchase items like paper cups with lids, plastic food ware, paper soup cups etc. Click here to donate---click on the drop down box "fund", scroll down and you'll see "homeless outreach" as an option.

Deering Center Community continues to demonstrate generosity and compassion. We are making a difference together.
